Reggio Emilia, August 28, 2026 – Over 100 kilos of meat seized and total fines of 8,000 euros. This is the outcome of the Nas inspections in food businesses and restaurants between Reggio and the province. Specifically, in the provincial capital city, the carabinieri of the anti-adulteration and health unit of Parma carried out a raid in an ethnic butcher shop where 113 kg of meat products were found without the necessary indications to guarantee traceability. The food, with a commercial value of about 2,000 euros, was therefore seized, while the owner was fined an administrative penalty of 2,000 euros.
While an inspection in a restaurant in the Bassa, the officers instead found deficiencies in a room connecting the kitchen and the pizzeria area, also used for the storage of some food products.

In particular, the presence of widespread dust and cobweb formations on the walls was detected. The legal representative of the business was therefore fined an administrative penalty of 1,000 euros.
Finally, inspections were also carried out in a food product warehouse in the Enza valley, where improper management of category 3 animal by-products was found. Inside the designated containers for their collection, plastic packaging and plant-based food products had also been disposed of. The legal representative was fined an administrative penalty of 4,000 euros.
