Forlì, September 2, 2026 – A dive into the whirlpool of the Brusia, then he never resurfaced. A 35-year-old man drowned this afternoon in the waters of the Montone river, in Bocconi, a hamlet of Portico and San Benedetto. The man had arrived in the Apennine locality of Forlì together with his girlfriend. Around 2:30 PM he dived into one of the natural pools of the Brusia waterfalls, a very popular destination in summer for swimming and finding relief from the scorching city heat.
The alarm was raised by the partner who was with him
It was the partner who was with him who raised the alarm. Other bathers were also on site. The fire brigades from Rocca San Casciano and Forlì intervened at the Brusia. From Bologna, the corps’ helicopter also took off, carrying the divers. The search focused on the last point where the 35-year-old had been seen diving, about three meters deep. Around 3:30 PM the divers located the body and brought it back to shore.
