Rovigo, September 2, 2026 – In the evidence seized from the home of Greta Spreafico, the truth about her disappearance is being sought. A story that has been waiting for answers for over four years, with no certainty to date about what really happened. Two suspects: the ex-boyfriend and a gardener friend.
Technical operations have begun at the biology laboratory of the Scientific Investigations Department (Ris) of the Carabinieri in Parma, as part of the proceedings concerning the 53-year-old woman who disappeared on June 4, 2022, from Porto Tolle (Rovigo).
The biological material under investigation includes 12 cigarette butts already available, 9 swabs previously collected by the Carabinieri of Rovigo from beer bottles, and three additional swabs taken today from two water bottles and one beer bottle.
Hunting for obvious traces on the evidence from the Porto Tolle house
The 53-year-old singer from Erba (Como) was there to sell her grandfather’s house to a cousin for 80,000 euros, and the completion of the purchase was scheduled for June 6, 2022, two days after her disappearance.
Lawyer Nunzia Barzan, her criminal lawyer brother Davide, and forensic biologist consultant Salvatore Spitaleri (who worked in the Ris between 1992 and 2019) requested to extend the biological tests to search for obvious or latent traces on the seized evidence originally present in Greta’s Porto Tolle home and not included in the current investigations. They also requested, where possible, sampling of areas that tested positive after treatment with chemical agents used for fingerprint detection, to attempt DNA extraction.

To date, the ex-boyfriend and a gardener from Porto Tolle who was a friend of the woman remain suspects.
The suspects and the extension of the investigations
Last June, the Gup of the Rovigo Court accepted a request to oppose the dismissal of the investigation, submitted by lawyer Barzan on behalf of Greta’s mother, Rosa Maria Camilla Donà.
The case file had already been closed three years ago and reopened in 2024, then there was a new request for dismissal and last June a new six-month extension of the investigations.
In the past, Andrea Tosi, a gardener from Porto Tolle, and the man from Como Gabriele Lietti, Greta’s ex-boyfriend, had been investigated.
