Rimini, September 12, 2026 – The final word will belong to Palazzo Garampi. But the path indicated is clear: according to the Municipality, the macro-aggregations, that is the new large establishments formed by at least 8 baths and a restaurant, are necessary for a true redevelopment of the Rimini beach. By the 18th expressions of interest for the macro-aggregations must be submitted. And even if they will not be binding, the projects that arrive at the Municipality will be the basis to ’redesign’ the beach in view of the 2027 tenders that will assign the new beach concessions.
The projects will be numerous
On paper, the projects that will end up on the table of Palazzo Garampi will be many. Operators have been working on them for several months, together with the cooperative of the lifeguards of South Rimini, Confartigianato and Legacoop. And some projects could have important partners, including Vertical Sgr, a company controlled by the Sgr group. If all the macro-aggregations go through, they will change the face of Rimini beach. The numbers say so. Next week, at the deadline of the call, the administration will receive at least 9 projects for as many large establishments, which will bring together – in total – 91 of the current baths.
The projects
The largest in size is the project that will be submitted by the operators of Le Spiagge Rimini, the consortium born in 2015 that groups as many as 13 establishments in the via Pascoli area. Among the members is the president of the South Rimini lifeguards cooperative, Mauro Vanni. Already certain are another 8 projects. One concerns the area between Piazzale Kennedy and Piazza Marvelli: the merger between Adriatic Village (today formed by baths 35, 36 and 37) and 5 other establishments. But for Marina Centro there is also another large establishment project, which merges baths from 38 to 46 of the Marina Lido consortium.
Moving south, another 6 projects: that of Le Spiagge Rimini, one a little further ahead in the Lagomaggio area, another in Bellariva, 2 in Rivazzurra including that of Rivazzurra Village, and finally one in Miramare. The Municipality will certainly also receive the project of a macro-aggregation in Viserba. That makes 9 projects already certain, for a total of 91 establishments involved in the mergers. They might not be the only ones. A group of lifeguards from Marebello and another from Bellariva are also considering participating with macro-aggregation projects. Another macro-aggregation could then be added in Miramare.
The ‘weddings’ among the lifeguards
All in all, if all the macro-aggregation projects go through, more than half of the current baths between the port and Miramare would be part of the new large establishments. The situation is more complicated in the Rimini north area where, both because of the characteristics – many establishments are on private beach, not state-owned – and because of the size, the ’weddings’ among the lifeguards are still struggling to take off.
