Bologna, July 19, 2026 – Summer storms return in Emilia Romagna: Arpae and Civil Protection have indeed issued a yellow alert for tomorrow across much of the region
“In the early hours of Monday, July 20 – reads the Arpae bulletin – strong storms are expected over the plains near the Po River. Later, during the day, rising temperatures will favor the development of storms also over the rest of the regional territory, more likely over the Apennine areas of the central-eastern sector. In the affected areas, occasional landslides, runoff, and rapid rises in water levels in watercourses and minor networks, as well as localized urban flooding, cannot be excluded.”
The forecast for the coming days
After tomorrow’s storms, for Tuesday morning, Arpae forecasts “cloudy sky conditions, with widespread precipitation also in the form of showers or storms more likely in the afternoon hours, gradually subsiding from the evening. Temperatures steady or slightly decreasing, with minimum values between 21 and 23 degrees and maximum values between 29 and 33 degrees. Light to moderate north-easterly winds with further strengthening. Sea initially slight with increasing wave motion during the day.”
The second part of the week
As for the trend in the second part of the week, the Arpae bulletin predicts that “north-western currents will maintain conditions of slight instability on Wednesday when we could still have isolated daytime precipitation along the hills. From Thursday, the rise of the high-pressure field will favor more stable weather. Temperatures will remain steady in the minimum night values and slightly progressively rise in the maximum daytime values.”
Hail in the province of Ferrara
Meanwhile, the province of Ferrara, particularly eastern Ferrara, has been hit by bad weather, with a violent storm last night, featuring large hail from Berra to Jolanda di Savoia, up to Codigoro and Bosco Mesola. Hailstones up to 9 centimeters in diameter damaged cars, broke windows, and also damaged windows of houses and warehouses.
