Fakir shouts disconnected phrases then someone yells: “You need to calm down”
In this footage, the 42-year-old shouts disconnected phrases, struggles, seems to be asking for help. At one point in the video, a citizen, out of sight, is clearly heard shouting: “You need to calm down“. But he is very agitated, saying: “Leave me” and other incomprehensible words.
Shortly thereafter, a fight will break out with two citizens and the police will intervene, throwing him to the ground and performing a containment intervention. These are Fakir’s last moments of life.
The man’s containment operations are under scrutiny by the Public Prosecutor’s Office
From the footage, it appears that Fakir probably needed help. The judicial authorities are currently examining the issue of the ‘failed’ TSO (Compulsory Health Treatment), in addition to the methods of the man’s containment operations and the management of sending aid.
Videos and conversations between operators acquired
Many videos shot by citizens, some – even unreleased until today – have been acquired by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Also acquired are the conversations between the operators who were on site. The file is in the hands of prosecutors Domenico Ambrosino and Francesca Arienti, coordinated by Chief Prosecutor Paolo Guido. Proceedings are underway for negligent homicide.

Six people are under investigation for Fakir’s death
Six people are under the investigators’ scrutiny: the two police officers and the four Red Cross volunteers who intervened on Sunday morning in Pilastro, registered under model 45 bis, the so-called ‘shield norm’ introduced with the security decree.
