Bologna, July 22, 2026 – A public assembly for Fakir in Piazza Lucio Dalla, in Bolognina, where “our brother lived”. A neighborhood from which “a smile” has been taken away. With these words, a friend of Abderrahim Farik speaks into the microphone in front of at least three hundred people, gathered for a meeting to organize the next appointments to demand “justice and truth” for the 42-year-old who died in Via Svevo, “killed by law enforcement”, another activist claims. From Tettoia Nervi, a demonstration is launched for Sunday, at 7 PM, in Pilastro because “we want justice and to shout even louder”.

An appointment one week after his disappearance. Which “is not a tragedy or a fatality. Racism does not begin with a knee on the back, it acts every day”. Under the participants’ scrutiny, radicalized and intrinsic racism and also “the militarization of neighborhoods”. A “normality that we no longer want to accept, made of violence and people being stopped”.
And so “Fakir died within a system that every day decides who should be controlled, believed, or blackmailed. Racism is a hierarchy, a system that dictates who can live in this city. His death is part of history: we know who was responsible, this was a state murder”.
Also scheduled is a national assembly for September 12 for Fakir, under the Two Towers, “called” from Piazza Lucio Dalla. Present at the public assembly were activists from Plat, Si Cobas, the MuBasta committee, the Cua collective, and Young Palestinians. Patrick Zaki was also present, and on Saturday at 9 PM, the Pilastro popular committee launched a moment of remembrance in Via Deledda: everyone can bring a flower for Fakir.
