Bologna, August 19, 2026 – “We will always play with you and for you”. In this phrase is contained the pain – if only it were possible to contain it –, heartbreaking and inconsolable, of Alberto Cremonini’s friends, known to all as ’Crema’, the nineteen-year-old who passed away Sunday after 45 days of hospitalization following a road accident on the day of his final exams. The friends, those with whom he played in the band ’Rebirth’, entrusted some words on their official social media page, posting a carousel of images depicting the former Righi high school student who for five years sat among the desks of section E, in the Applied Sciences course.

“You left us too soon”
“Unfortunately you left us too soon – write the other members of the group –. We still had so many things to do together and we will continue to always play for and with you. We will miss you forever, Crema.” Following this, comments from other friends with hearts and farewell messages.
The vigil to say goodbye to the 19-year-old
To say goodbye to the nineteen-year-old, awaiting the funeral which will take place after the autopsy performed yesterday morning by forensic doctor Luca Diani, his friends and peers organized a vigil in the church of San Nicolò di Calcara, the parish Alberto attended as an assistant catechist and as a member of the youth group, participating as a leader in Summer Kids and playing guitar also during mass. The appointment is for tomorrow (August 20) at 9 PM, in the spaces of via Mazzini 34 in Calcara, where his grandparents live.

“He was a very present boy and followed all activities – states don Remo Borgatti, who leads the parish –. This vigil is organized by his friends, by our youth,” but also desired by Alberto’s parents, his only child. The driver who hit him, a fifty-nine-year-old man, has been reported and will answer, as a due act, to the charge of vehicular manslaughter.
The vigil will be “a moment of prayer to remember ’Crema’ – reads the commemorative poster –, to share this painful moment and to seek together a light that illuminates the darkness before us.” But this will be a moment of cohesion and unity “that we want to make a bit ’Crema’,” says Celeste, Alberto’s longtime friend, with whom she shared the stage in ’Rebirth’. Upon learning of the nineteen-year-old’s passing, the friends gathered in the parish: “We met and decided to say a rosary, in ’Crema’ style.” For this reason, “every ten Hail Marys we will remember him through our memories, from music to catechism.”

Friend Celeste: “For me ‘Crema’ is always a very important figure”
Celeste has been friends with Alberto for a long time: “Let’s say – confesses the girl with a broken voice – that we really started to care about each other six years ago, since I started high school. For me ’Crema’ has always been a great friend, a very important figure. It will be hard to be away from him.”
Together, “we have always been in the band, which was born in December 2023.” Beyond music, “we saw each other every day – continues Celeste –. In the morning on the bus to go to school, on the way back to rehearsals for the musical recital (with the Anzolese Cultural Center, ed) and in the parish.”
The accident at the end of the final exams
On July 2, the day the nineteen-year-old took the oral final exam after which the accident occurred, “we were supposed to play together at FestivalPark” in Anzola. The band performed, but without Alberto. He will be remembered, now and in the future, through the notes. “We were supposed to play, in September, at the village festival in Calcara. We will remember him also on that occasion.”

“Everyone loved him”
Crema was “loved by everyone,” says don Vincenzo Passarelli, who teaches Religion at Righi and who had Alberto as a student: “Everyone loved him. This tragedy, like that of Giovanni Tamburi (the sixteen-year-old who died in the Crans Montana fire on New Year’s Eve, also a Righi student, ed), questions the kids about the meaning of life. This moment of prayer will also be important.” Cremonini had also participated in a fundraising event for the Fobes association, which joins in the mourning for the young man’s passing. “His death – says councilor Daniele Ara, on behalf of the mayor and the council – is news that leaves us stunned and deeply affects the Righi high school community.”
