Antonio Berloni, current owner of the Indel B group and founder together with his brother Marcello of Berloni Cucine, turns 90 years old. To celebrate this occasion, last Thursday, on his birthday, family and collaborators organized a big surprise party for him, which was also attended by many long-time friends met during a lifetime spent in the world of entrepreneurship. “At the party, there was even a person who came from China and whom I hadn’t seen for many years,” explains Antonio Berloni, still enthusiastic. “It really pleased me to see so many friends again; I never would have expected it.”
How does it feel to have reached this milestone?
“Before this party, I didn’t even think about my 90 years. I still go to the company every day; I don’t see what’s so strange about it. Why shouldn’t I do it because I’m 90? I behave exactly like anyone else, continuing to work every day, always looking towards the future and also supporting young people and the new generations employed in the company.”

Today the Indel B group, headquartered in Valmarecchia and of which you are president, is a leading company in the production of refrigeration and air conditioning systems for the furniture sector, now also listed on the stock exchange. How is it going?
“We are a company present not only in Italy but also in many countries around the world. We have about 600 employees, and the connection with the territory and the community where we were born is still very strong despite our international size.”

You, together with your brother Marcello, gave life to Berloni Cucine, a company that made history in the Pesaro furniture sector.
“It was the early 1960s when we created the company. Many years have passed since that experience, many are no longer with us. The Berloni brand in the sector has certainly been very important, and many friends in the furniture field to whom I am connected are still around today.”

Many of them did not want to miss the celebrations for your 90 years.
“I certainly did not expect such a beautiful party, where I found many people I hadn’t heard from in a long time but who obviously have not forgotten the relationship we have built over all these years. However, I have learned one thing in all this time.”
What?
“That if you are generous and give in life, then the affection and esteem of people always come back to you. This is also shown by all the people who have reached out in these days. Seeing so many friends all together was emotional, so much so that I thought now I would like to turn 90 every day.”
Mayor Biancani: “Value to the community and work for all”
Among those present at the party for Antonio Berloni’s 90 years was also the mayor of Pesaro, Andrea Biancani, who on the occasion presented the entrepreneur with the ‘City’s Applause’. “A recognition that expresses the gratitude of the entire community towards one of the great protagonists of the economic and entrepreneurial history of our territory,” explains the mayor. “Antonio Berloni, together with his brother Marcello, was able to transform a small artisanal reality into a great industrial experience, making the Berloni name known and, with it, that of Pesaro in Italy and worldwide. A story built with courage, the ability to innovate, foresight, and a strong work culture.”

Biancani especially emphasizes “the value this experience has had for the entire community. Berloni has not only meant economic growth and development of the Pesaro furniture sector but also work and opportunities for many families in Pesaro and the territory, contributing to building skills and professionalism that still represent an important asset of our city today. We are proud,” continues the mayor, “that an entrepreneurial story born in Pesaro has been able to go so far, becoming one of the symbols of that Made in Italy capable of combining quality, creativity, and production capacity. Antonio Berloni has also always maintained a strong relationship with his city, putting his experience at the service of the community and its economic institutions.”
Recalling the words said by Berloni during the party for his 90 years, the mayor concludes: “He emphasized an aspect that I particularly appreciated: the willingness to share his success with the territory, with the city, with employees, and with other entrepreneurs. A recognition that concerns not only the work path but also the value of human relationships and the bond with the community.”
