Pesaro, August 18, 2026 – The water emergency that erupted in the middle of the Ferragosto holiday has not yet been fully resolved. After the chaos of recent days, with water trucks overwhelmed, long lines to get water, and tourists forced to deal with the inconveniences, attention is now focused on the areas of the territory that remain uncovered.

The problem, at the moment, is limited to some parts of Candelara, Cerreto, and Santa Maria dell’Arzilla. No new network breaks have been reported and, in most of Candelara, the situation has been covered thanks to supplies. But in some hamlets water continues to be missing in homes and water trucks remain the only point of reference for residents and businesses.
In Santa Maria dell’Arzilla there are two water trucks: one with non-potable water in front of the school and one with potable water in front of the soccer field. The water truck already present in front of the church is also kept filled. In Cerreto, a water truck with potable water. An additional intervention to guarantee supplies in one of the areas still affected by the emergency.

The situation comes after a complicated Ferragosto on the water front, with particularly high pressure caused by the presence of residents and tourists and a network already struggling with breaks and infrastructure difficulties. In recent days the rush for supplies had turned the water trucks into real emergency points, with lines and inconveniences even for those simply trying to get water for daily needs.

Now the priority is one: bring water back into homes. Work is underway to restore the service and, in the meantime, strengthen supply points in the areas still in difficulty. The absence of new breaks is a positive element, but the emergency cannot yet be considered over.
The supply operation therefore remains active, with the goal of supporting the hamlets most affected until a full return to normality.

“Today I also decided to take stock of the water emergency. For this reason, I have convened a meeting in these hours with Marche Multiservizi. Fortunately, there are no other breaks, and water has returned to most of the city. But there are still some somewhat critical areas – says in a video the mayor of Pesaro Andrea Biancani –. In particular Candelara, Cerreto, and Santa Maria dell’Arzilla. Workers are also on site in the upper Montegranaro area to resolve technical problems. For the other areas, we are doing what we can with the water trucks: 2 in Arzilla and one in Cerreto, while in Candelara there was already one. Water is slowly arriving, we hope to restore the service for all citizens as soon as possible, as it should be.”
