For the investigators, a sort of ‘angel of death’. He has always declared himself innocent.
The hearing has been set in the Court of Assizes in Forlì for October 15.
The trial concerns the death of Deanna Mambelli, 85 years old, who died on November 25, 2025, whose family is assisted by lawyers Max Starni and Massimo Mambelli: it is the murder for which Spada is in prison under precautionary measures.
For another five contested deaths the investigations are still ongoing.
Spada, a 27-year-old from Meldola, is defended by lawyers Marco Martines and Gloria Parigi.

Luca Spada in prison since last April
‘Spadino’ has been in prison since last April 11 for the aggravated voluntary murder of an elderly patient transported by ambulance, Deanna Mambelli, who died on November 25, 2025, on board the vehicle operated by the 27-year-old from Meldola, while traveling from Vecchiazzano hospital to Villa Igea, less than two kilometers apart.
An autopsy was performed on the elderly woman which confirmed death from embolism, triggered by an abnormal flow of air in the blood.
Spada is under investigation by the Forlì prosecutor’s office for six murders; however, the restrictive measure by the judge Ilaria Rosati concerns only that of the 85-year-old, to whom the suspect allegedly injected air with a venous catheter.
