Bellaria, August 16, 2026 – Tragedy at sea in Bellaria Igea Marina. On Ferragosto day, around 11:30 AM, a 69-year-old tourist from Bologna felt unwell while swimming.

The incident, which occurred at the height of bath 92, was noticed by the local lifeguard, who immediately jumped into the water to assist the tourist.
Once the man was brought ashore, he called 118 and began performing resuscitation maneuvers.
Unfortunately, there was nothing to be done for the 69-year-old. Attempts by the 118 medical staff, who arrived promptly on the scene, were also in vain.
From what emerges, the man suffered from other illnesses: a sudden illness could have caused his death.
The coast guard also intervened at the scene of the tragedy and reconstructed the dynamics of the incident.
Most likely, an autopsy will not be performed: the death occurred due to natural causes.
