Ravenna, September 16, 2026 – Fatal illness during the night along via Romea Vecchia, between Ponte Nuovo and Classe: a 56-year-old man died while driving his car, at the intersection with via Navarco.
The alarm was raised around 11:30 p.m., when the car in which the 56-year-old from Ravenna was traveling went off the road. His wife was also on board and the two remained trapped in the cabin. Firefighters, 118 medical personnel, and a local police patrol intervened on the scene.
According to initial reconstructions, the driver Gianluca Goni suffered an illness while driving, collapsing onto his wife who was traveling with him. The car reportedly left the roadway, ending its run in the ditch beside the road. The medical personnel who arrived on the scene could only confirm the death of the 56-year-old, and doctors confirmed it was due to natural causes. The wife was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
