Monte Roberto (Ancona), August 2, 2026 – He had just turned 72 two days earlier and had gone out to dinner with friends also to celebrate the occasion. An evening of sharing turned into a tragedy late Saturday night at the Rosina restaurant, along the Cuzzana road between Jesi and Cupramontana. The life lost was Giovanni Brega, a retiree residing in Serra San Quirico, most likely struck down by a heart attack.
A slight discomfort, then he collapsed
The alarm was raised Saturday night around 11 p.m. According to what was reconstructed, the retiree had appeared somewhat confused already upon his arrival at the venue and had reported feeling unwell. Shortly after, he suddenly collapsed to the ground in the restaurant hall under the incredulous eyes of friends and other customers.
The rescue, two doctor customers first to intervene
The rescue chain immediately started. And the call to the single emergency number. Among the patrons present in the hall were two doctors who immediately began resuscitation maneuvers, later continued by the paramedics who arrived on site. Tense moments that kept those present holding their breath.
“Something like this had never happened to me before – they reported from the restaurant –. Two healthcare workers intervened immediately: they opened his shirt and started the cardiac massage. I believe they continued for over forty minutes, but in those moments I completely lost track of time”
