Crevalcore (Bologna), August 1, 2026 – A young life cut short, yesterday late evening, on the metropolitan roads of Bologna. It concerns Giuseppe Farina, a 20-year-old born in Carpi and residing in Piumazzo, a district of Castelfranco Emilia, in the province of Modena, on the border with Bazzano (Bologna).
The tragedy on the Crevalcore ring road
It was just past 10 PM: the young man, riding his Yamaha motorcycle, was traveling on the Crevalcore ring road when, near the local Cá Rossa, at the entrance to a roundabout, he lost control of his Yamaha YZF R3. The fall to the ground for the 20-year-old was dramatic: the young man died instantly. The two-wheeler was thrown several meters away from the fall at the center of the roundabout.
According to what has been learned, the young man was on his way to meet some friends who, not seeing him arrive, went back along the road until they discovered the accident.
Carabinieri on site to clarify what happened
On site, promptly alerted by other drivers, the 118 emergency medical services arrived with ambulance and emergency doctor but there was nothing more to be done for the 20-year-old.
With them, the Crevalcore Carabinieri and those from the San Giovanni Norm: they took care of the investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of what happened.
At the moment it seems certain that the young man on the motorcycle acted alone.

Thus the mayor of Castelfranco Emilia, Giovanni Gargano: “A tragedy has struck our community. I extend my condolences to the family of the young man and offer, on behalf of everyone, sincere feelings of sympathy. When tragedies like this happen, I become increasingly aware of the importance of activities, aimed at young people and all age groups, that we have in our territory in synergy with the Local Police. These are activities that raise awareness about road safety education. In the autumn we will launch two more projects in this regard: I am increasingly convinced that it is necessary to educate and sensitize anyone who gets behind the wheel of any vehicle, whether it is a bike, a motorcycle, a car, or a van, for the protection of themselves and all those on the road.”
