Bologna, August 27, 2026 – “The extensive time span of the charges; the related intensity of intent and the absence of any logical reason to support such behaviors; the extent of the consequences caused to the individual subjects; the plurality of victims affected; the lack of any form of real remorse; the variety of behaviors aimed at shifting responsibility for these events onto third parties.”

These are the reasons, expressed in the motivations of the sentence, with which the Gup of the Bologna Court, Andrea Romito, denied any mitigating circumstances to Claudio Tacconi, former coordinator of the 118 emergency center at the Maggiore Hospital of Bologna, sentencing him to two years for injuries and stalking against his colleagues, for having administered drugs mixed with food and drinks, as well as for simulation of a crime. The trial was held with the abbreviated procedure and the prosecutor Francesca Rago had requested to sentence Tacconi to the same penalty.

According to the judge, who accepted the Prosecutor’s position, Tacconi caused illness to ten people, all operators of the center. And he “generated, among the complex of the operational center staff, an intense state of anxiety and a strong sense of fear for their own safety, constantly exposed to danger in its essential aspects.” At the same time, the Gup of Bologna emphasizes, it is established “the alteration of life habits in terms of sure and concrete appreciability.”
