Reggio Emilia, August 10, 2026 – Stava reaching his friends, Alessandro Terrazzini, when a road accident cut short his young eighteen-year-old life. Originally from Carbonate, in the province of Como, at 4:30 in the morning he was traveling through the Masone district, heading to the Marche region, when the tragedy occurred. The causes of the accident are still under investigation by the local police, but so far it appears that no other vehicles were involved. By the afternoon, the body had already been made available to the family to hold the funeral.

The crash against a fence
The accident happened at the height of number 53 via Bacone. Terrazzini, who had turned eighteen less than two months ago, lost control of his scooter while heading towards Modena, crashing into the fence of the social winery. The force of the impact left him no chance. From what has been reconstructed, he had left Carbonate riding his 125 scooter to reach friends on vacation in the Marche. He would have traveled some stretches of highway and others on less busy roads, such as the straight road crossing the Masone district where, especially at that time in the morning, there is no traffic.
Perhaps a sleep attack
At the moment no elements have emerged that could suggest causes other than a sleep attack. On site, in addition to the 118 operators, the local police intervened to carry out the surveys. The body was taken to the morgue of the Coviolo cemetery, where the identification was made by the parents, who were immediately notified and rushed to the city from Lombardy. The young man also leaves behind two brothers.

Alessandro’s passions
Alessandro Terrazzini’s life was driven by two great passions: engines and baseball. Having graduated from a technical institute with a mechanical focus, he was already working in a workshop based in Saronno, where he also dealt with historic cars. The large family of the Hornets, a baseball and softball sports club in Varese, is still in shock. “He started with us when he was very young, we saw him grow up,” says the president, Maurizio Ferrari.

Terrazzini played baseball and baseball 5 in the Italian Serie C championship, currently on loan to Asd Braves of Lentate sul Seveso. “He was a cheerful boy who loved life – continues the president of the Hornets –. Occasionally a bit stubborn, he had a strong character, but he was very kind and well-liked by everyone, both by us adults in management and by his friends and teammates.”
The friends’ dismay
The same boys, upon hearing the news, all gathered at coach Nadia’s house. Sitting on the couch, they find no words. “Besides being teammates in baseball, they had a beautiful friendship,” continues Ferrari. According to what emerged, Terrazzini was on his way to meet another baseball player from a team in Bollate, his friend: “They had planned to spend the holidays together with other boys as well.”
Besides being a player, Terrazzini was also involved in the same sports club as a referee. “In the autumn and winter period, we always organize many tournaments, and without a doubt one will be in his honor,” says the president. He pauses before expressing his condolences to the family. His voice breaks with tears: “I don’t know where to start”. “We are all close to them – he then says –. Alessandro was a very good boy, kind and good. He liked to have fun, like all young people his age, but he had his head on his shoulders. We raised and knew him from the beginning, we are all shocked. None of us has yet fully processed what happened.”
