Rimini, August 24, 2026 – A pain that swept through the entire Valmarecchia in just a few hours. Alessandra Sabba, 49 years old, resident of Ponte Messa, a hamlet of Pennabilli, has died. For the woman, who was involved on Friday in a terrible head-on collision on the Olbia-Arzachena road, brain death had been confirmed: the injuries sustained in the impact were too severe.
The tragic head-on collision
Alessandra Sabba, an accountant, was in Sardinia for vacation with her husband and their two children, a 7-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl. On Saturday, they were traveling in a Citroën C4, driven by her husband, when the car collided head-on with a Fiat Ducato van. The circumstances are still under investigation by the Olbia traffic police. At the time of the accident, it was raining and the bad weather made that stretch of road more dangerous: the road surface conditions will also be evaluated as part of the investigation. Alessandra suffered the most serious consequences in the crash. Her husband and two children were rescued and taken to the hospital, but they are not believed to be in life-threatening condition.
