Rimini, August 6, 2026 – A 13-year-old tourist from Turin on vacation in Rimini with his family disappeared while in the water a short distance from his father, around 1 p.m. yesterday morning, vanishing before his parent’s eyes. He was found around 8 p.m., between beach 95-96 and is fine. For hours, the State Police, Carabinieri, and Coast Guard conducted an extensive search campaign along the Rimini coastline. The Publiphono loudspeakers also repeatedly broadcast appeals regarding the boy’s disappearance.

The young boy – now being interviewed at the police station to clarify what happened – was swimming a few meters from the shore, while his father followed him walking along the water’s edge, when he suddenly disappeared from his sight. Not seeing his son, the father, fearing the worst, asked for help from the lifeguards at establishment 92, triggering the alarm. The search operations focused at sea between Bellariva and Marebello and on the beach. The Fire Brigade helicopter also joined the search.
