Colmurano (Macerata), July 19, 2026 – Together until the end. The couple formed by 50-year-old Giancarlo Petri from Serravalle di Chienti and 49-year-old Emanuela Taschini from Visso lost their lives in the tragic motorcycle accident last night on provincial road 78 at Passo Colmurano. They had been partners for some time. She, a mother of a boy, had worked until a few months ago as a worker at the agricultural company AgriColfiorito in Taverne di Serravalle, while she was currently employed in a laundry in Scopoli, a district of Foligno.

Moved to Umbria after living in Taverne di Serravalle
The couple, who previously lived in Taverne, had recently moved to Umbria. Petri, father of four children (from previous relationships), was a bodywork specialist; he had worked both independently (at one time also in Camerino) and as an employee always in this sector and was respected by clients and colleagues. An entire territory in tears.
Emanuela was a very good girl, sincere and generous
“A loss that affects everyone – says the mayor of Serravalle Rinaldo Rocchi -. It is absurd to think that a person decides to spend a carefree evening with the one they love, an evening of happiness, and instead loses their life. The whole town stands firmly with their families.” Emanuela deeply loved her origins, her land.
“A very good girl – recalls the councilor of Visso Luca Testa, who studied with her until the third year of middle school –, honest, sincere, an added value to the community, with a big heart. Always available and generous.” Now the couple is at the Macerata morgue, under the prosecutor’s office, at the disposal of the judicial authority. In the coming hours, the prosecutor will decide whether or not to order an autopsy. Only after will the funeral date be set.

The reconstruction: died a short distance from each other
Petri and Taschini died a few minutes apart from each other. The accident occurred near the intersection for Urbisaglia, at the level of the pizzeria. The street motorcycle, with the two partners on board, was heading towards Sarnano when, suddenly, it rear-ended a Dacia Dokker van, driven by a 68-year-old from Urbisaglia. No skid marks on the ground.
A former security guard who was on the scene reportedly saw the motorcycle fly and then fall back onto the asphalt. The same witness tried to assist the couple. One of the two lost their life on impact. The other was breathing poorly. The healthcare workers who arrived on the scene tried their best to resuscitate him, also alerting the air ambulance. But unfortunately, there was nothing to be done. The two vehicles were seized. The van driver was unharmed but in shock. The investigations were carried out by the Radiomobile Carabinieri of the Tolentino Company and the Urbisaglia station. Many messages of affection and support for Petri and Taschini.
