The electoral law, first and foremost, “built with hopes that will predictably be disappointed” according to Casini. “We must never be afraid of voting in whatever form it presents itself,” adds Igor Taruffi, head of the Pd organization, on stage together with Casini and Luigi Tosiani, regional Democratic secretary. But there is also room for next year’s municipal elections and the proliferation of civic candidacies underway: “A true civic candidate goes and presents themselves at the polls alone, not designated by other parties, otherwise it’s a decoy,” says Casini.
Casini: “2027? Confusion on track and a plethora of candidates”
“I see a rate of confusion on track and a plethora of candidates – insists the senator –, then I see Lepore at the center of a systematic attack for 4-5 years. Today in Bologna there is a perpetual electoral campaign and I do not agree with everything the mayor has done, for example I would not have given citizenship to Francesca Albanese (UN rapporteur; editor’s note), but he had two paths: either make structural reforms, which clearly would have angered some, or do nothing. And I am convinced that when people get on the tram and see concrete results, they will understand that in this city there was a need to go deep with public works. He had this courage and I think he was honest and loyal with the voters: the fruits that are not yet visible today will be seen.”
Taruffi: “Government talks as if it were in opposition”
And also General Roberto Vannacci and remigration, and not least security. “If there is a problem, first of all the Government should answer for what it has not done – presses Taruffi –. It is unbearable and ridiculous that they talk as if they were still in opposition. I am convinced that Matteo Lepore will continue to lead this city and that we will remember the interventions of this administration as the greatest investments of the last 40 years under the Towers.”

Taruffi also refers to “social attacks” organized “in a scientific way” with “packages of likes and influencers,” speaking about the case of Bolognina.
Tosiani: “Security is not a right-wing issue”
“There is a paradigm that has been overturned, we will realize it when we govern the country – concludes Tosiani –: for years the left was afraid to talk about security, ‘a right-wing issue,’ now instead it has realized that it means talking about the worker who returns home in the evening or the elderly person who is afraid. It is a great left-wing issue because it is up to the State to protect the weakest. And if the Government makes 7 security decrees, it means that on the priority issue of security you have failed.”
