Bologna, August 24, 2026 — First the thunderstorms, then a brief lull. Emilia-Romagna is preparing for a Tuesday marked by instability, so a yellow alert has been issued for ordinary criticality due to thunderstorms.

The warning concerns the mountain and the hill of central Emilia, the mountain and high hill of Piacenza-Parma, the mountain and high hill of Romagna, the mountain and hill of Bologna.
In the first part of tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, scattered thunderstorms are expected, locally of strong intensity, throughout the region.
The phenomena may cause associated effects and damage, with a higher probability along the Apennine belt. A phase of bad weather, which concentrates its main effects on Tuscany and the Northwest regions, is then expected to gradually ease, giving way to calmer conditions, at least for a few hours.
Meteorologist Nanni: “Up to 38-39 degrees”
“The last week of summer is definitely hot also in Emilia-Romagna, but with an atmosphere far from stable,” explains meteorologist Ampro Roberto Nanni in a Facebook post. After the thunderstorms expected between this evening and tomorrow, “a brief calmer phase will follow with temperatures rising sharply between Thursday 27 and Friday 28,” when values could reach “locally close to 38-39 °C,” especially on Friday in the internal Romagna areas.
The heat, however, could again be accompanied by instability. “Disturbance impulses will continue to pass over Northern Italy,” adds Nanni, and precisely “between Friday and Saturday a new thunderstorm phase could develop, locally intense as well,” capable of involving Emilia-Romagna too. A dynamic that, the expert specifies, is still to be defined in detail.

The day will start with wide clearings, but precipitation will remain possible in the eastern sectors. During the hours, cloudiness will be variable, with temporary afternoon thickening especially on the hills, where scattered showers may occur.

The following day the picture will be decidedly calmer. The sky will be clear or slightly cloudy, with an increase in cloudiness in the afternoon starting from the western sector. Wide clearings will return in the evening. Temperatures will remain stable in the minimums, between 20 and 22 degrees, while maximums will rise to values between 28 and 32 degrees.
