The signing, barring any twists, will take place. But it remains to be seen how and on what. “Together with Minister Salvini we will review this agreement. For us, however, there are non-negotiable aspects. So we will have to understand the breaking point of this project because we must not only look to the future, but also to how some works can start immediately,” continues Councilor Priolo.
“A more balanced, sustainable and consistent solution with the needs of the territory,” leaked from the Ministry of Infrastructure which yesterday, in a note, spoke of “a stagnant situation that we will unblock.” Specifically, in the proposed update of the economic-financial plan of Autostrade per l’Italia, among other things, there are also “infrastructural works and modernization interventions, such as the Reno and San Donato bridges of the A14, long awaited and which will be implemented in the short term,” the ministry specifies.

“But the protocol will not be enough if nothing happens on the sidelines of the signing: from environmental mitigations to the start of some construction sites – explained Priolo –. Otherwise, citizens will feel fooled again. We expect that from the meeting not only a sharing of the works will emerge, but that they can start within a few months.” The goal, therefore, remains the same: improve traffic flow, reduce traffic and remove construction sites from the A14.
