Blood and terror awakening in the Morane neighborhood
Yesterday morning’s awakening was one of blood and terror in the Morane neighborhood, on via Tignale del Garda, at number 72, a building in the row of public housing. At dawn, around 5:30 a.m., the first residents leaving their homes were faced with a gruesome scene: the body of a man lying supine on the first flight of stairs in the building’s entrance hall, immersed in a pool of blood. The victim is Rolando D’Ulizia, 44 years old, known as Dino, stabbed to death. Carabinieri from the Investigative Unit immediately arrived on the scene along with the Scientific team who cordoned off the area with white and red tape, starting the initial surveys while waiting for the medical examiner’s arrival.
Woman arrested almost in the act who had a romantic relationship with the victim
The officers arrested a 44-year-old woman, Giorgia De Martino, almost in the act; she had a romantic relationship with the victim: she lives on the fourth floor of the building, and the apartment has been seized. Blood droplets can be seen on the stairs going up. The woman was initially questioned on the spot. The officers took her to her home, where they stayed for several hours. Then she was taken to the station, where, starting at 3:30 p.m., pressed by investigators and in the presence of her lawyer, she confessed to the crime shortly after 5 p.m.
Investigations in the morning immediately focused on her. Witnesses, after discovering the body, saw her sitting in the condominium park, from which she had left shortly before. But then she returned.
“Too much pain, at this moment we prefer not to comment”
D’Ulizia lived in a nearby building, on via Como, with his brother and mother who yesterday morning, after learning the news, fell ill. An ambulance rushed to the scene. “Too much pain, at this moment we prefer not to comment,” the family said.

The murder weapon thrown in a trash bin
The murder weapon, a knife with a 19-centimeter blade, had been thrown inside a trash bin in the park in front of the condominium; it was bloodstained. The item was found and seized by the carabinieri to be subjected to DNA and fingerprint tests.

The crime possibly linked to money or drugs
The tragedy occurred in a context of extreme hardship. At the moment, it is not possible to determine exactly what triggered the massacre. However, it is likely that the crime may be linked to money or drugs. It is certain that those living in the building describe the fourth-floor apartment as a sort of ‘port of call,’ reporting “a continuous coming and going of people connected to the world of drug addiction.”
The same large building on via Tignale del Garda has often been the focus of law enforcement attention, forced to intervene in the recent past for brawls, violent fights, and reports related to drug dealing.
D’Ulizia worked for a cooperative active in public green maintenance
D’Ulizia worked for a cooperative active in public green maintenance, Onyva. Some colleagues, shaken by the news, said that the man had been seen less frequently at work recently and had confided that he was going through a very difficult time, marked by heavy tensions and personal problems precisely because of his relationship with his partner.
