Bologna, September 5, 2026 – She was walking in the park with her mother when, for no apparent reason, she was surrounded by five children and kicked repeatedly. The victim is just 6 years old, her attackers between 6 and 10 years old.
A story that is absurd, not only because of the manner but also because it is unclear what triggered that violent behavior.
A story that begins in the afternoon with a little girl walking in a park and ends in the evening with the child in the hospital. And the arrival of the police. Reconstructing the events from the beginning, Thursday around 5 pm the girl was walking with her mother in the San Donnino park.
Five children approached and suddenly, taking advantage – it seems – of a moment of distraction by the mother, they surrounded the little girl and kicked her, hurting her especially on the legs. The mother turned around and saw the girl on the ground. It would have all happened in a few seconds.
An unprovoked attack
Later, the young attackers were described as roughly the same age as the victim or slightly older, and of North African origins. However, it is unclear what triggered the attack, what pushed children to kick a peer. According to the victim’s mother’s account, there was no reason behind the violence.

Hunt for the young attackers
At the moment, it is excluded that the girl, Italian, knew the young attackers. Her mother also reported that they had never seen them before and could not say who they were, only able to describe what little she remembered during those tense moments about their appearance.
The five still need to be identified by the authorities but, considering their very young age, they are not criminally responsible. The local police station will probably proceed, and in any case, investigations will be carried out on the incident, also to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the events. Any footage from surveillance cameras in the area will also be reviewed.
The little girl is at Sant’Orsola
The little girl was taken to Sant’Orsola immediately after the attack. At that point, the doctor reported what happened, calling the authorities, and the police arrived promptly, collecting the testimony of the victim’s mother. The girl received the necessary care and was not admitted to the hospital. Now, efforts will be made to reconstruct the facts as accurately as possible.
