Montefiorino, September 11, 2026 – The irreproducible technical investigations are entering the crucial phase to shed light on the death of Daniela Ruggi, whose remains were recovered in recent months from the Torre Pignone. The prosecutor’s office, following the discovery of the body, has opened a file with the hypothesis of voluntary manslaughter. Today at the Ris of Parma, the fingerprint and biological analysis of the evidence recovered in the Vitriola tower of Montefiorino during excavation works began.
Lawyer De Cicco: “I was present together with my consultants”
“I was present together with my consultants, Dr. Palmegiani and Dr. Baldi” – states lawyer Deborah De Cicco, who represents the victim’s brother as the injured party. “We had the opportunity to examine the evidence: these are some objects, not all those recovered but evidently those selected among those found as the most relevant to investigate,” explains De Cicco.

The Ris carried out sampling related to biology and fingerprints: among the analyzed objects are also Daniela Ruggi’s phone and the umbrella. “There are a couple of elements definitely of interest but, at the moment, everything is covered by investigative confidentiality – the lawyer continues. The next September 17 is scheduled for the continuation, at the Labanof institute in Milan, of the medico-legal investigations on Daniela Ruggi’s remains. In that case, they will check, evaluate, and further investigate the other bra cup found in the tower – De Cicco explains further. We will have to update on both cups once they are returned to the Ris for mercantile-type analysis, related to my request.” The lawyer in fact filed a request with the prosecutor’s office regarding various doubts and investigative inquiries of a mercantile nature on the bra cups. The two cups, found separated, will therefore be examined together by the Ris in irreproducible technical investigations on another occasion.
