Civitanova, July 15, 2026 – Some hundreds of people, braving the scorching heat, welcomed Roberto Vannacci in Civitanova, guest at Shada Beach. At the shout of ‘general, general’ the crowd went wild when he reiterated his desire to repatriate “the foreigner who commits crimes, even if they have a residence permit, and those who do not embrace the culture and values of the Italian people,” or when he clarified “that femicide has no reason to exist,” words met with thunderous applause, including from the female audience. Many young people, many teenagers, were in Vannacci’s audience. The day’s focus was Ciarapica’s investiture but also the case of Pulp Podcast journalist Ivan Grieco, correspondent for Fedez and Mr. Marra who accuses the general’s staff of having attacked him.
The alliance with Mayor Ciarapica
Alongside the leader of Futuro Nazionale, there has always been Fabrizio Ciarapica, mayor of Civitanova, promoted by his leader. “He has transformed Civitanova and definitely has the credentials to be a candidate,” he said, anticipating what will probably be the local theme, with the mayor focused on the parliamentary career of Futuro Nazionale.
Distancing from the San Benedetto assault
Many topics were also touched upon including the case of Giuseppe Barboni, the San Benedetto man involved in the assault on the Iraqi, registered with FN and from whom Vannacci in the last forty-eight hours has tried to distance himself: “I do not justify any act of violence except as self-defense and this applies to everyone. As for the specific episode, the investigators will judge, I have seen the video but I do not know exactly what really happened.”
The electoral goal and the “real right”
But from Civitanova also comes the push for the electoral goal of 30%: “I see percentages for us like those of Alternative für Deutschland in Germany. Are we defined as extremists? A lie and the more they fight us with this accusation the more we will win and I don’t care about the media shaming because our course is that of the real right, open to everyone, as long as they prove to have assimilated our principles.”
From fourteen-year-olds to work to the blasts on the electoral law
A speech of more than two hours during which the concept of repatriation inflamed those present who accompanied with ovations Vannacci who contested the concept of liquid society (“we do not dilute ourselves”), of wealth redistribution (“we rather want to produce more wealth not distribute it waiting for the allowance sitting on the armchair”) and shouted “Italy to Italians,” up to the proposal of work for fourteen-year-olds. Blasts on the electoral law case rejected in Parliament: “The Badoglio supporters of the center-right shot their own camp in the back with the ammunition provided by the Democratic Party which requested the secret vote. The reality that emerged is that no one wants these preferences.”
The photo case and the mayor’s reply
On the sidelines of the speech, the mayor had to defend himself from the accusation of having lied when he declared not to have known Barboni who instead was photographed hugging him during a party meeting. “I never said I didn’t know him, but I crossed paths with him at an event as I cross paths with many people,” he said referring however to a regional initiative of Futuro Nazionale, the meeting of the representatives of the Marche committees that Ciarapica himself had organized.
“Attacked by Vannacci’s staff”: the complaint of the journalist for Fedez and Mr. Marra
“I was attacked while trying to ask simple questions to Roberto Vannacci at his event in Civitanova.” Ivan Grieco reports it on X, influencer and correspondent for Pulp Podcast, the online show of Fedez and Mr. Marra, previously excluded from some events organized by the general’s party. According to Grieco, a person from Vannacci’s entourage allegedly grabbed him and “snatched the camera from his hand, throwing it to the ground.” The attacker according to Grieco would be Luca Paolorossi, mayor of Filottrano. “Fortunately we have all the footage, the video will be released tomorrow,” Grieco adds in the post published on social media. The episode comes after tensions in recent weeks between the Pulp Podcast correspondent and the staff of Futuro Nazionale. In June Grieco had reported being repeatedly turned away from the general’s events, speaking of “attacks on the press” and “a somewhat absurd drift reminiscent of dark periods in our history.” On that occasion Grieco explained that he had requested a regular accreditation to ask questions to Vannacci, after having previously pressed him on topics such as the Middle East and Ukraine.
Paolorossi’s reply: “I did not attack anyone”
Luca Paolorossi, mayor of Filottrano, replies as follows: “I did not attack anyone, God only knows how much I hate violence in this my second life as an administrator. I just came to listen to a friend of mine, General Vannacci, I consider him such. I was invited and I participated. I was in a private area where journalists could not enter, the press conference had already taken place. This journalist, pestering, kept inveighing against the general, persistently showing him the camera. I was nearby. When security reacted, I removed the camera. I thank the police forces, they did their duty.”
