Porto San Giorgio (Fermo), September 9, 2026 – At home with Benedetta Rossi and Marco Gentili, silence is no longer the norm. In fact, after the arrival of the two adopted daughters from Costa Rica, even a few minutes of peace has become a special moment. Marco, who for the first time shares details of daily life with Natacha and Sharlyn, tells how the new life as a dad is going. And he starts with the word that best describes the change: “At the beginning, and even today, it has been very emotional. Very emotional and beautiful to be called dad. Actually, papi, as they call me.”

Marco and the new life as a father: “Energy, questions and discoveries”
Benedetta’s husband describes a completely different home compared to the past, with two girls aged 9 and 10 who are learning to know their new world. “The house with silence, which was normal for us, has now become something extraordinary, but very beautiful. When it happens, it’s wonderful,” explains Marco, showing how intense these first weeks together are. A daily life full of energy, questions, and discoveries, but also of small moments that have taken on a completely new meaning for the couple.

“At first I was bombarded by their curiosity”
And it was Marco, at least at the beginning, who had a special role in the relationship with the girls. The reason is also linguistic: they are native Spanish speakers and he speaks their language. “I am bombarded by their curiosities, they call me constantly, because I am the one who speaks Spanish – he says -. So at first I was the one who spoke their language.” A role that made him an immediate point of reference: “They are very attached to me for this reason or at least they referred to me even to talk to Benedetta.”

“Now a new chapter begins: learning Italian”
Now, however, another chapter begins: learning Italian. “They are native Spanish speakers and are 9 and 10 years old, so now they have to learn this new language which is Italian. We have already started with some booklets, with movies, with music, with some videos to guide them in Italian,” Gentili says. This is also part of integrating into the new family and a reality completely different from what they have known until now.
The choice to protect them from social media
Benedetta and Marco, however, have decided to share this new adventure without making the girls the protagonists of their profiles. A deliberate choice, explained together in a video: “We will introduce them through our stories. We will talk about them, also telling about the developments in our lives. But we have decided not to show them on social media.”

The reason is equally clear: “We want to protect them. We want to safeguard their daily life. We want this new life of theirs to be as peaceful as possible.” A decision the couple stands by without judging those who choose a different path: “We know that today it is quite common to see minors exposed on social media, we do not judge those who do it, we have nothing against it, but our decision and our good sense tell us it’s better not to.”
The adoption journey and the joy of being called mom and dad
The new daily life comes after a long journey, culminating in the adoption of the two sisters and their return to Italy. The first meeting in Costa Rica was described by the couple as a very difficult moment to put into words. The girls ran to Benedetta and Marco calling them “mom and dad,” starting a completely new story.

Benedetta Rossi: “I want to accompany them in their ‘thousand first times’
Then the return to the Marche region and the first weeks together. Benedetta had explained that she wanted to slow down work to dedicate herself to them: “Right now I want to be with them. They have a thousand first times, so I want to accompany them in doing many things. They need mom and dad.” She described the moment experienced by the family as “a whirlwind of emotions,” emphasizing that for everyone it was about learning a new normal. Now that normality is taking shape, day by day. With a noisier house, new habits, and many things still to discover. But with one certainty for Marco: being called “papi” is already one of the greatest emotions of this new life.
