These are the words of the families of the three twenty-year-olds from Macerata, Nicolas Calabrese, Giorgio Franceschini and Daniele Francalancia – who lost their lives following the highway accident on June 14 – after the results of the toxicological consultation on Christian Perugini, who also died in the impact. He was driving the car that collided with the group of young people. The examination, carried out by Prof. Rino Froldi, found alcohol and psychotropic drugs in high concentrations in the 41-year-old from Morrovalle.

The families of Nicolas, Giorgio and Daniele, who will nonetheless delve deeper into the matter, are at the same time committed to ensuring that the “fruits of friendship and closeness that have been sown in recent weeks find a home, to preserve the memory and transform it into a permanent path of love towards the community”. In a word, TriStar. That is, the social promotion association presented on July 13 which, in less than two weeks, has reached approximately 225 members of all ages.

“There are many young people, but also parents – explain the president Alessia Carletti, mother of Daniele Francalancia, and the secretary Betty Mariani, mother of Nicolas Calabrese –. Members from various parts of Italy, Rome, Turin, Parma, Bologna, Foggia. Various local entities, both sports and social, are contacting us because they want to contribute to the project”. In addition to registration with the Revenue Agency after the constituent assembly, TriStar has created a new logo and an Instagram page, which registered a thousand followers in a single night. Meanwhile, the fundraising for the small field continues, which has reached approximately 54 thousand euros. In addition to this last project, which will have to become a real meeting place for the young people of the city, the parents and friends of the three boys have several initiatives in the pipeline.

“We are organizing ourselves, we are ready to fight to achieve these goals and we are putting all our effort into it – add the families – and, precisely for this reason, we would like to be heard by the full Macerata council. We have requested an appointment and hope to be summoned soon to present our projects: we would like them to become reality together with the Municipality and the local area. In the face of these tragedies, we must all remain united”. An appeal to the Parcaroli administration, therefore. “The local police, for example, have offered their availability to help us with projects of road safety education and safe driving in high schools – they conclude –. Not only that. What matters most to us is to give hope back to young people, despite everything, so that they believe in the future”.
Not by chance, the aims of the association are: to foster the personal, educational, cultural, and social growth of young people; to support families and individuals in situations of fragility, loss, isolation, or difficulty; to promote road safety, health prevention, first aid, and healthy lifestyles; to value sport as an educational, inclusive, and aggregative tool; to promote volunteering, active citizenship, legality, and care for common goods; to foster the inclusion of people with disabilities and combat all forms of discrimination; to develop networks with schools, universities, public bodies, ETS, ASD, healthcare institutions, and local entities.
