Pesaro, July 26, 2026 – Two trees fell on as many cars while they were in motion, fortunately without causing injuries, temporarily flooded roads and dozens of interventions by firefighters. This is the toll of the violent wave of bad weather that this morning, around 9:30 am, hit the Pesaro area with a downpour accompanied by strong gusts of wind, creating disruptions both along the coast and inland. The most critical situations were recorded in the Upper Metauro Valley.

Tree collapsed
A tree collapsed on a car in transit along the road between Urbania and Piobbico, while a second tree hit a car outside the town of Sant’Angelo in Vado.
Both cars were in motion at the time of impact but, despite the scare, the occupants remained unharmed. Firefighters intervened to remove the trees, secure the roadways and allow traffic to resume. In particular, the tree, which fell on the roadway of state road 73 bis of Bocca Trabaria, caused traffic slowdowns. The intervention of the teams allowed the road to be quickly cleared and, in the late morning, traffic returned to normal.
Storms on the coast
The storm front also affected the coast. Between Fano and Pesaro numerous requests for intervention arrived for trees and large branches that had fallen or been made unstable by the wind. The teams operated particularly in the areas of Fenile, Chiaruccia, in the airport area and in other points of the city outskirts, where it was necessary to eliminate dangerous situations. The rain, which fell with great intensity in a very short period of time, also caused some temporary flooding.
In Pesaro
Among the most affected areas in Pesaro is the intersection between Via Togliatti and Via Toscanini, where water invaded part of the roadway and the cycle-pedestrian path.
The critical issues were favored by the obstruction of manholes and drains by leaves, pine needles and other debris carried by the rain. The local police also intervened to clear the drains and facilitate the outflow of water, which gradually decreased with the end of the downpour until returning to normal.
Firefighters’ interventions
Overall, this morning, firefighters carried out 35 interventions throughout the Marche region. The most affected provinces were those of Pesaro and Urbino and Ancona. In the Pesaro area alone, there were 19 operations, mainly concerning the removal of fallen trees and branches and the securing of unstable elements on buildings and other structures. The improvement in weather conditions then allowed for the gradual resolution of all major critical issues.
