Bologna, July 29, 2026 – The multitude of images of the Pilastro tragedy could still have much to tell the prosecutors about the exact dynamics of the death of Abderrahim Fakir. This is why, in these days, the defense of the two police officers now recorded in the model 45-bis file (together with the four 118 paramedics who intervened) will ask the prosecutor’s office to order a special technical expert examination on the entire massive amount of footage from that cursed Sunday, July 19.

From the dozens of amateur videos shot by residents who witnessed the police intervention from their windows on via Svevo, to the street camera that may have recorded all or part of the scene and, above all, the complete footage of the bodycam of one of the two police officers who intervened, turned on shortly before the scuffle with Fakir began. The aim of the request to be made by lawyer Gabriele Bordoni is to improve the quality of the videos and audio, to exactly attribute the authorship of the phrases captured in the footage as well as to clearly reconstruct all phases of the tragedy: from the onset of the 42-year-old’s psychiatric crisis to the man’s death.

Tomorrow the assignment for the analysis of Fakir’s cellphone
The request will be made tomorrow, when the prosecutor’s office – represented by deputies Francesca Arienti and Domenico Ambrosino, under the coordination of chief prosecutor Paolo Guido – has scheduled the assignment of a new task: the technical analysis of the contents of Abderrahim Fakir‘s cellphone, seized by the police in recent days.
The assignment will be entrusted to computer engineer Giuseppe Ferraro, who has already worked, among others, on the case of Pierina Paganelli and who will have the task of sifting through the secrets held by Fakir’s personal device to reconstruct in particular the last contacts of the 42-year-old Moroccan and thus also clear up the remaining doubts about why Abderrahim was actually at Pilastro the morning he died during the police detention.
New testimonies from Monday
With whom he had an appointment and for what reason. In addition to technical checks and autopsy, the prosecutor’s investigation continues marked by new testimonies from those who, starting with Fakir’s relatives on Monday, will be summoned to the offices on via Garibaldi to give statements to the judicial authority regarding what was seen on Sunday, July 19, such as the four citizens who participated, helping the officers, in the containment phases.
A broad investigative mosaic contained within the outlines of an inquiry opened for manslaughter, but with model 45-bis in which the two police officers from the Bolognina Pontevecchio police station, defended by lawyer Gabriele Bordoni, and the four 118 paramedics, defended by lawyer Mario Simoni, have been recorded, not investigated.
Judicial investigations by Ausl Bologna
Regarding the paramedics, alongside the judicial investigations, Ausl Bologna immediately started an internal audit to shed full light on their conduct. A procedure not yet concluded, during which – as well as awaiting developments in the investigation – the paramedics have not yet returned to operational service on ambulances.

“A choice for their peace of mind,” lawyer Simoni announced, starting from the premise that the paramedics were anyway working voluntarily. On leave, and therefore currently not operational since the tragedy last Sunday, are the two young police officers. One of them was initially transferred to internal offices, but now is not working, as is the colleague, who also spent an initial period on sick leave due to minor injuries sustained during the intervention.
