“The officers affected by what happened”
“The two officers, two young men aged 23 and 28, **acted correctly**, according to procedure. Of course, **they were tragically affected** by what happened on Sunday, **they saw a person die before their eyes**, and they were also shaken by the even extreme stances that followed. In a city where citizens are somehow invited to participate in a street demonstration that then gives vent to a whole series of incidents… which also causes **injuries and bruises**, on both sides, well, I think this is a topic we need to reflect on. Those who hold a position that requires great prudence, I believe, should reflect before taking certain positions. Because young people go to the square, police officers go there, and injuries and bruises occur on both sides. **You have to play on your own skin, not on the skin of others**”.
In the square last night and until this morning, **clashes continued over the death of Fakir**, who died on Sunday during a police containment operation at Pilastro.
The lawyer: “Nothing exuberant is noticeable from the video”
“They told me the reasons for their intervention, the methods, their operational choices, all of which seemed correct to me,” said lawyer Bordoni. According to the lawyer, even **from the video taken from above, “nothing exuberant is noticeable**. We are in a context where dozens of people were leaning out of windows filming, photographing, and **one of my clients**, having a private video camera, turned it on precisely to document the entire intervention, and this makes me think that there was no mental reservation to act abnormally”.
Furthermore, “**what seems most striking to me is that the citizens who come down and approach the two police officers and the person on the ground try to help the police keep them still**. Now, if there was something truly so incredible and exuberant, I think anyone would have expressed their protest, their dissent, would have said something.” The lawyer reiterated that **the taser was not used**, but “a progression was chosen instead, first verbal and then physical containment, paying attention to what was happening.” “It seems to me that everything is within the protocol, **unfortunately tragedies occur even when things are done well**,” he added.
