Rimini, July 29, 2026 – Gianni Andreatta rejects the accusations and goes on the counterattack. The 74-year-old entrepreneur, owner of the Grand Hotel di Riccione and former administrator of Marebello Spa, currently under investigation for fraudulent bankruptcy in the Infinity Rent investigation by the Rimini Guardia di Finanza, has entrusted his defense to lawyers Stefano Caroli and Annamaria Putignano. Andreatta considers himself a victim of a “speculative maneuver” designed to take away the Grand Hotel from him. He disputes the bankruptcy of Marebello, which he believes is based on contested credits, and announces legal initiatives to assert his rights.

Andreatta’s defense confirms that the measure notified yesterday morning concerns “an urgent preventive seizure order of the company and properties, issued by the public prosecutor,” specifying that “it must be validated” by the judge. “Andreatta – clarifies lawyer Caroli – believes that behind this whole affair there is a speculative maneuver by subjects who led him to bankruptcy based on non-existent credits.” According to the defense, Andreatta fundamentally disputes the bankruptcy of Marebello Spa, arguing that the credits on which the bankruptcy request was based were actually subject to judicial dispute and, precisely for this reason, should not have been considered valid for the opening of the procedure.
“Our thesis is that those credits were contested and that the lawyer assisting Andreatta in the pre-bankruptcy phase forgot to represent this circumstance to the judge during the hearing. According to Andreatta, if this had been highlighted, the bankruptcy would not have been declared,” the lawyer reports.

For this reason, Caroli adds, his client believes he has suffered serious damage and intends to take action also against the professional who followed him in that phase. Andreatta, for his part, has always been convinced that behind the affair there is a precise speculative operation aimed at taking over the historic hotel complex. “He believes there are subjects interested in taking away the Grand Hotel from him and who have built this situation to ruin him financially and take possession of the hotel,” the defense states. Also according to the lawyer, Andreatta has already filed complaints, also disputing the economic valuation attributed to the real estate assets. “According to him, the property was estimated at about 20 million euros, while its real value would be at least 40 million,” concludes the entrepreneur’s defense.
Yesterday’s raid by the Guardia di Finanza opens a new and sensational chapter in the long and troubled history of the Grand Hotel di Riccione. The symbol of Riccione hospitality has been seized as part of a Prosecutor’s investigation that hypothesizes a complex system of corporate operations aimed at diverting the assets of Marebello Spa. Along with Andreatta, five other people have been registered as suspects: four men, including a Cuban citizen, and a woman, believed to be the alleged ‘front men’.
